WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Gift total for 2004-05 tops $10 million Feb. 21, 2005 KALAMAZOO--More than $6 million in gifts received during November and December brought Western Michigan University's gift total for the first half of the 2004-05 fiscal year to $10,069,273. A report at the Feb.18 meeting of the WMU Board of Trustees indicates the total received from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2004, is $2,787,620 less than the amount received during the same six-month period one year earlier. The year-to-year decline was credited to a few very large gifts and pledge payments, which were received in 2003 for the university's now-concluded Centennial Campaign. Bud Bender, WMU vice president for development and executive director of the WMU Foundation, reported to the trustees that $1,044,016 was received in November 2004 and $5,110,178 was received in December. The combined amount for November and December is about $1.5 million more than was received during the same two months of 2003.
