Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett star in "Life Aquatic"

March 14, 2005

KALAMAZOO--Western Film Society presents "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," starring Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett and an all-star cast, Friday through Sunday, March 18-20 at Western Michigan University's Little Theatre.

Showtimes for "The Life Aquatic" are Friday and Saturday, March 18-19, at 7 and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 20, at 2:30 and 5 p.m. Admission is $5 or $3 for students.

In director/co-writer Wes Anderson's "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," an intrepid group of seafarers identified as Team Zissou are on a hunt for the rare "jaguar shark" that ate a member of the crew. On this search and destroy mission Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) surrounds himself with an unstable and eccentric crew--a pregnant journalist writing a feature on Zissou (Cate Blanchett), an airline pilot from Kentucky that just might be his son (Owen Wilson), an irritable yet needy European (Willem Dafoe), his highly intelligent wife (Anjelica Huston) and Zissou's pompous nemesis (Jeff Goldblum).

"The Life Aquatic" received multiple film festival, critics circle and film association nominations for Best Ensemble Cast, Best Actor (Murray) and Best Supporting Actress (Blanchett).

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street on Western Michigan University's East Campus. Free off-street parking is located behind the theatre.
