Knific and Sims perform in Faculty Artist Series

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University music professors Renata Artman Knific and Lori Sims come together in one of the region's most coveted musical collaborations Saturday, April 2, at 8:15 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.

These two musicians are well known to the concert halls throughout the area as soloists, recitalists, and chamber musicians. The duo will perform a program featuring works by Claude Debussy, Karl Szymanowski and William Bolcom. With Bolcom's encouragement, the duo is recording a CD of his complete violin sonata repertoire for release next year.

General admission tickets are $10, and tickets for students and senior citizens are $5. Tickets are available at the door and in advance through the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858.

Knific is professor of violin and chair of the string area in the WMU School of Music. Sims is professor of piano and chair of the keyboard area.
