During the past two months, student records have been transferred in a phased and integrated transition from ISIS to the new student information system, Banner. End-user functionality of Banner--for course registration, student account services and other "self-serve" features--is accessed through GoWMU, the university's secure intranet portal. Beginning Monday, April 18, ISIS will be "view only" for nearly all faculty and staff who have access to the old system. "Even though faculty and staff with access will still be able to see the information in ISIS, they need to understand that much of that information is already outdated," says Marcy Ohs, SIS project functional manager. "If they are not already using Banner, they need to begin using it as soon as possible." For a limited time, a few staff members will be able to make very specific updates to information in ISIS, solely to finish processes needed for spring semester or upcoming student orientation, says Ohs. All other information updates will be made in the new Banner system. Staff members who need training in using Banner, should visit the training Web site at <www.wmich.edu/bannertraining>.
