Trustees also accepted the resignations of two faculty members and three staff members. All of the faculty members who are retiring are doing so with emeriti status. Their names, positions, years of continuous service and effective dates of retirement are: Dr. Andrew A. Brogowicz, chair and professor of marketing, 28 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Rollin G. Douma, associate vice president for academic affairs and associate professor of English, 36 years, effective June 30, 2006; Dr. Adrian "Ed" Edwards, interim dean of the Haworth College of Business and professor of finance and commercial law, 42 years, effective June 30, 2006; Dr. Arlen R. Gullickson, director of the Evaluation Center and professor of counselor education and counseling psychology, 16 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. John M. Hanley, chair and associate professor of speech pathology and audiology, 27 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Dona G. Icabone, University ombuds and associate professor of educational studies, 30 years, effective June 30, 2006; Bettina S. Meyer, assistant dean of University Libraries and associate professor of University Libraries, 29 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Daniel Mihalko, chair and professor of statistics, 21 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Richard O'Hearn, chair and professor of music, 23 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Janet I. Pisaneschi, dean of the College of Health and Human Services and professor of philosophy, 17 years, effective June 30, 2006; Dr. Paul E. Ponchillia, chair and professor of blindness and low vision studies, 29 years, effective June 30, 2007; Mary E. Ross, professor of University Libraries, 26-1/2 years, effective Aug. 31, 2005; Dr. Daniel L. Stufflebeam, Distinguished University Professor, founding director of the Evaluation Center and professor of educational studies, 34 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Paul E. Szarmach, director of the Medieval Institute and professor of English and medieval studies, 13 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Larry J. tenHarmsel, dean of the Lee Honors College and professor of English, 33 years, effective June 30, 2007; Linda Trotter-Heger, associate professor of music, 15-1/2 years, effective April 30, 2006; Dr. Thomas L. Van Valey, chair and professor of sociology, 30 years, effective June 30, 2007; Dr. Arthur T. White, professor of mathematics, 38-1/2 years, effective Dec. 31, 2008; Dr. D. Terry Williams, immediate past chair and professor of theatre, 25-1/2 years, effective June 30, 2007; and Lawrence A. Williams, director of the Cooperative Extension and Internships Office in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and assistant professor of industrial and manufacturing engineering, 38 years, effective June 30, 2006. The faculty members resigning are: Dr. Hideko Abe, associate professor of foreign languages, effective April 4, 2005, and Dr. Pamela K. Stone, assistant professor of anthropology, effective July 31, 2005. The staff members resigning are: Dr. Charles F. Nawrot, executive director of the Biosciences Research and Commercialization Center, effective March 25, 2005; Dr. James K. Nelson, professor and chair of the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, the Department of Industrial Design, and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, effective June 30, 2005; and Dr. Peter Saunders, director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, effective June 30, 2005.
