Haenicke Institute for International and Area Studies to the Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education. The action was taken at the board's April 22 meeting. Greater efficiencies are expected as a result of the consolidation. The Haenicke Institute already was responsible for area studies courses, universitywide internationalization of academics and faculty, and the Office of Study Abroad, among other activities. Now, it also will encompass the Office of International Affairs and Office of International and Student and Scholar Services as well as the Career English Language Center for International Students.
