WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS WFS presents Cannes and Sundance award winnerSept. 18, 2005 KALAMAZOO--Western Film Society presents the Kalamazoo-area debut of "Me and You and Everyone We Know," Friday through Sunday, Sept. 23-25, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University. "Me and You and Everyone We Know" is the work of writer/director/star Miranda July. The film was a multiple award-winner at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision at the Sundance Film Festival. Showtimes are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24, and 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. Admission is $5 and $3 for students. In "Me and You and Everyone We Know," July plays Christine, a performance artist, who meets and falls for Richard, a recently-divorced shoe salesman and father of two. As Christine and Richard struggle to connect, his sons find themselves ready to learn about sexuality, starting with Internet chatrooms. The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street on Western Michigan University's East Campus. There is free off-street parking behind the theatre.
