Health and Wellness Fair features 50 exhibitors

KALAMAZOO--Students, faculty and staff at Western Michigan University are invited to attend the 2005 Health and Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the Fetzer Center.

More than 50 exhibitors from WMU and the greater Kalamazoo area will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about available health and wellness services and employee/retiree benefits.

Special activities taking place during the free event will include flu vaccinations, which will cost $20 for students and, as an added benefit for faculty and staff, will be free for benefits-eligible employees at the fair. Among the other activities planned are vision and hearing screening; blood pressure checks; chair massages, diabetes screening; and service dog demonstrations.

The 2005 Health and Wellness Fair also will provide information on stress management, ergonomics, nutrition and diet, reproductive health care, weight training and exercise, and financial health.

In addition, the fair will feature comedians at 5 and 6 p.m., healthy food samples and door prizes.
