Percussion ensemble gives free concert in Dalton

KALAMAZOO--The Western Michigan University Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Professor Judy Moonert, presents its fall concert at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.

The concert begins with a world premiere of Scott Blasco's "Momentia/Minutia" for marimba quartet. Blasco is a WMU alumnus, having received his Master of Music degree in 2003. The program will also include David Skidmore's "Echoes," which received second place in the 2004 Percussive Arts Society's Composition Contest; Steve Reich's "Six Marimbas;" Dave Hollinden's "Percussion Quartet No. 2;" and Paul Ross' "Ask."
