WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Dace Copeland receives Latvian honorNov. 14, 2005 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's Dace Copeland has been awarded the Cross of Recognition by the president of Latvia. The prestigious award is given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding patriotism and achievements for the good of Latvian society and culture. Copeland, who serves as director of budget, finance and administrative services in Extended University Programs at WMU, has been a university staff member for more than 20 years and is a longtime leader in the Kalamazoo Latvian community.
