Carol J. Voytas

Carol J. Voytas, a physician at Western Michigan University's Sindecuse Health Center, died Nov. 15 in Kalamazoo following a long battle with cancer. She was 51.

Voytas joined the Sindecuse staff in January 1997 and practiced on campus until this past May. Prior to coming to WMU, she had worked in private practice at Westside Family Medical Center since 1983.

Voytas earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, her medical degree from Michigan State University and completed a residency in family practice at St. John Hospital in Detroit.

A native of Ann Arbor, Mich., Voytas was active in the Kalamazoo community and served on the board of directors of Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo.
