Call for nominations for top fine arts teacher

KALAMAZOO--Nominations for the 2006 Dean's Teaching Award in the College of Fine Arts at Western Michigan University are due by Friday, Jan. 27.

Students, alumni, and current and retired WMU faculty and staff members are asked to identify one outstanding teacher in the College of Fine Arts. Only full-time, board-appointed members of the faculty in art, dance, music and theatre are eligible for the award. Self-nominations are welcome.

The CFA Dean's Teaching Award was developed to recognize the critical role in fine arts programs of high-quality teaching and dedication to individual student learning. The honor is bestowed annually on one member of the fine arts faculty. Professor of Music Trent Kynaston was the recipient of the 2005 award.

Nominations must be submitted in writing and may be sent to Dean Margaret Merrion, College of Fine Arts, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo MI 49008-5421 USA or to margaret.merrion@wmich.edu.
