Both on- and off-campus students are encouraged to participate in an online survey, and those who do could win one of five iPods or one of 20 $100 gift cards. Through the survey, students can share feedback on current housing and dining options as well as make suggestions for what they would like to see in the future. The survey is part of the Division of Student Affairs' process for developing a master plan for on-campus housing. The plan will include residence halls, WMU Apartments and Dining Services. "Any master planning process that has longevity and sustainability for a college campus relies heavily on a student-centered focus, and the best way to gather student input is to go directly to the students," says Dr. Diane Anderson, vice president of student affairs and dean of students. "We want WMU housing to be known as a vital component of our students' overall educational experience." The survey is available through Feb. 20 at www.wmich.edu/housing/survey. The survey is being conducted in cooperation with Neumann Smith and Associates, an architectural firm from Southfield, Mich., which will develop plans for any remodeling or new housing that may result from the data collected.
