Career Day for English Majors is Friday

KALAMAZOO--Career Day for English Majors is Friday, March 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 105 of the Bernhard Center at Western Michigan University.

The program is open to all interested WMU students. Lunch will be provided at no charge and reservations can be made by calling the Department of English at (269) 387-2572.

Students will have the opportunity to talk with WMU English alumni who are gainfully employed in the "real world" using their English degrees. Panelists include Christine Byks of the University of Michigan Press, Suprotik Stotz-Ghosh of the Kalamazoo United Way, Laurie Cerny of the Kalamazoo Gazette and Mark Schwerin of the WMU Office of University Relations.

The event also will include sessions on creating effective resumes, applying to graduate schools and turning your English skills into marketable skills.
