WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News WMUK surpasses spring fund goalApril 14, 2006 KALAMAZOO--WMUK, the public radio service of Western Michigan University, succeeded in meeting its 2006 spring pledge drive goal of $170,000. "Even though we had to go into overtime to meet our goal, we are delighted that our spring pledge drive is now completed," says Floyd Pientka, general manger. "We finished at 7:44 a.m., Monday, April 10, having raised $170,778 from 1,862 donors, including 259 first-time contributors." Funds raised in WMUK's pledge drive will go toward acquisition and broadcast of programs from National Public Radio and Public Radio International.
