WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Pedestrians detoured near campus constructionMay 1, 2006 KALAMAZOO--Walkways in the central West Campus of Western Michigan University, in the general area surrounding the new chemistry building, will be closed for periods throughout the summer and early fall so that new walkways and landscaping can be installed. The work will be done in phases, and detours will be clearly marked. Phase I work scheduled for May includes walks around Dunbar, Knauss and Wood halls and a section between Waldo Library and the chemistry building, which is still under construction. Work scheduled during Phase II, June and July, involves the prominade between the Dalton Center and Dunbar and Knauss halls, and walks between Dalton and Wood Hall. Phase III will be undertaken between July 15 and Aug. 31 and involves the area between Wood Hall and the new chemistry building. During September and October, the final phase will be undertaken, involving walks around the University Computer Center and between the chemistry building and UCC and Waldo Library.
