University officials have been authorized by the Board of Trustees to sign agreements with the operators of Beaners Coffee for a 1,000-square-foot Bronco Mall location. Trustees also approved a lease with Mariane Inc, which plans to open Taco Bell and Pizza Hut restaurants in the Bronco Mall space formerly occupied by McDonalds. Both agreements run for seven years, with an optional five-year extension. Acting at their July 14 meeting, the trustees also approved two lease renewal agreements, both with National City Bank, for five ATM machines and the bank's 1,100-square-foot branch in the Bronco Mall. The new ATM agreement runs through 2011, and the branch agreement extends for one year, with four additional one-year extensions and annual rent increases of 3 percent.
