WMU will be offline Sunday morning

Aug. 16, 2006

KALAMAZOO--Sunday, Aug. 20, from 4 to 10 a.m., nearly all Internet-based services at Western Michigan University will be offline while network and system upgrades are performed.

All Web pages at www.wmich.edu, including the WMU home page, WMU News, University Libraries, admissions and financial aid, will be unavailable.

GoWMU, the University's secure intranet portal, and all services accessed through GoWMU will be unavailable.

E-mail, both IMAP and webmail.wmich.edu will be offline. GroupWise e-mail should not be affected.

There also will be intermittent network outages between 3 and 6 a.m. Sunday affecting ResNet, East Campus and VPN services. This should affect very few people at those hours.

Any problems following the upgrades should be reported to the OIT Help Desk at (269) 387-HELP (387-4357). If the Help Desk is closed, please leave a voice mail message, and OIT staff will attempt to resolve the problem.
