WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Tenor Ken Prewitt gives first faculty recitalSept. 18, 2006 KALAMAZOO--Tenor Ken Prewitt, a new faculty member in Western Michigan University's School of Music, will present a solo recital Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 8:15 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. Performing with Dr. Prewitt will be pianist Yu-Lien The, a resident artist in the School of Music. The program will consist of works by Henry Purcell, Ludwig van Beethoven, W.A. Mozart, Gabriel Faure, Gerald Finzi, and Igor Stravinsky. Included in the program will be the seldom performed concert aria "Per pietá, non ricercate" by Mozart, and the opening recitative and aria from Beethoven's "Christus am Olberge." Prewitt came to WMU from the faculty at Emporia State University in Kansas. He received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in voice performance from the University of South Carolina, and master's and bachelor's degrees in voice performance from Bob Jones University.
