"Break!" is an urban funk spectacular

Oct. 16, 2006

KALAMAZOO--"Break! The Urban Funk Spectacular" comes to Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University for one performance Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m.

"Break!" is an electrifying show for the whole family that features a distinctly American art form with African roots. The cast members' unorthodox, creative movements to various types of music including funk, rap, hip hop and soul demonstrates a distinctive American art form, which finds its roots in the inner city streets. The 90-minute program, with a percussionist and disc jockey, is made up of 10 segments including "Block Party," "Popping 9-2-5," "Times Square" and "Pass da Beat!"

Tickets for "Break!" range from $10 to $35 and are available by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, online at www.millerauditorium.com or by visiting the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office or the Epic Center Box Office in downtown Kalamazoo. Groups of 20 or more should call (269) 387-2312 for special discounts.
