WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Halloween concert features pirates and treatsOct. 26, 2006 KALAMAZOO--"Tubas of the Caribbean: the Curse of Sousa's Isle," an evening of Halloween entertainment for the whole family, will be performed at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall at Western Michigan University. The program is open to the public free of charge. Attend in costume and trick-or-treat in the recital hall. "Count" Carl Doubleday will perform at the pipe organ, with tubas and euphoniums as the pirates, and sousaphones as the stars of the show. Tuba pirates set sail in search of the "magic mute" and travel to Sousa's Isle to find their treasure. The music and script were written and produced by the WMU Tuba-Euphonium Studio.
