KFS presents 2006 film "Half Nelson"Nov. 5, 2006 KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "Half Nelson," a gritty exploration of loneliness, addiction and friendship, Friday through Sunday, Nov. 10-12, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University. Little Theatre show times for "Half Nelson" are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday, 4:30, 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 and $3 for students. The 2006 film is rated R for drug content, language and sexuality. Starring Ryan Gosling and Shareeka Epps, "Half Nelson" is an honest and inspirational film that explores the precarious relationship between a white, male high school teacher (Gosling) struggling with addiction, and a young black girl (Epps) on the verge of losing her innocence. The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street on WMU's historic East Campus. There is free off-street parking behind the theatre.
