WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Concert offers wide variety of percussion musicNov. 13, 2006 KALAMAZOO--The University Percussion Ensemble performs Monday, Nov. 27, at 8:15 p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall at Western Michigan University. The concert is open to the public at no charge. The concert will include "Kalabash" by Australian composer Nigel Westlake, for marimba quartet; "Raptures of Undream" by Bruce Hamilton, for percussion sextet with each player performing on a floor tom-tom and cymbal of various sizes and timbres; "Ray's Medley" by steel pan pioneer Ray Holman; and "Trio per Uno" by Yugoslavian composer Nebojsa Zivkovic, a tour de force for percussion trio.
