Most WMU facilities closed Thanksgiving weekend

KALAMAZOO--Except for essential and emergency services, Western Michigan University offices will be closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 23-26, for the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Thanksgiving recess officially begins at noon Wednesday, Nov. 22, and there are no afternoon or evening classes Wednesday. WMU offices will remain open Wednesday afternoon.

Classes resume at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27.

The only public event scheduled on campus during the holiday weekend is "Christmas in Vienna" with the Vienna Boys Choir at Miller Auditorium, Saturday, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m.

Listed below are Thanksgiving weekend hours for selected University offices and services. Faculty, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular office on campus is open. For emergencies only, contact WMU Public Safety at (269) 387-5555.

Admissions office is closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 23-26.

Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will remain closed Thursday through Saturday. Some Bronco Mall stores, including the BCC Computer Lab, Subway, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut will be open reduced hours Sunday, Nov. 26. Visit the Bernhard Center on the Web for the holiday weekend hours of Bronco Mall stores.

Computer lab in the Bernhard Center closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and reopens at noon Sunday, Nov. 26; the UCC lab closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is open noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. The OIT help desk is closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 23-26.

Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, is closed Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 23-26. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.

Student Recreation Center closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, and resumes normal hours Monday, Nov. 27.

Waldo Library closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, is open 2 to 11 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, and resumes normal hours Monday, Nov. 27.
