Trustees approve faculty sabbatical leavesDec. 26, 2006 KALAMAZOO--At its Dec. 15 meeting, the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees granted sabbatical leaves for 28 faculty members. Those granted sabbaticals are: Dr. Massood Atashbar, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering; Dr. Lisa Baker, professor of psychology; Dr David Barnes, associate professor of geosciences; Dr Robert Berkhoffer III, associate professor of history; Dr. Sung Chung, professor of physics; James Daniels, professor of theatre; Dr. John Dilworth, professor of philosophy; Dr. Johnson Haas, associate professor of geosciences; Dr. Willem Homan, professor of aviation sciences; Dr. Katherine Joslin, professor of English; Dr. Mitch Kachun, associate professor of history; Dr. Allison Kelaher-Young, associate professor of teaching, learning and educational studies; Dr. Hanjoon Lee, professor of marketing; Dr. Paul Maier, professor of history; Dr. Gerald Markle, professor of sociology; Dr. Ann Miles, professor of anthropology; Dr. Annegret Paul, associate professor of mathematics; Dr. Craig Peterson, associate professor of finance and commercial law; Dr. Gwen Raaberg, professor of English; Dr. Alan Rea, associate professor of business and information systems; Judith Rypma, faculty specialist II in English; Dr. Thomas Scannell, associate professor of management; Dr. Quentin Smith, professor of philosophy; Dr. Laura Spielvogel, associate professor of anthropology; Dr. Robert Spradling, professor of music; Dr. Sarah Summy, associate professor of special education and literacy studies; Dr. Brian Wilson, chair of comparative religion; and Dr. Devrim Yaman, associate professor of finance and commercial law.
