Revised research misconduct policy approved

KALAMAZOO--Acting at its Dec. 15 meeting, the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees approved a revised research misconduct policy for the University that is in line with recent changes made by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Research Integrity.

WMU's policy was amended to address all researchers and research activities at the University. Past policy addressed research that was funded or sponsored externally or that was intended for scholarly presentation. In addition, the policy provides more detail on the responsibilities of the institution in responding to allegations of research misconduct and the oversight of the ORI in an investigation of misconduct.
