WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Gold Company set for two shows at MillerJan. 24, 2007 KALAMAZOO--Gold Company, Western Michigan University's award-winning vocal jazz ensemble, commemorates is 29th anniversary with two performances of "Gold Company: The Musical" at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Miller Auditorium. The performance will include a special tribute repertoire celebrating the tunes of Broadway. Widely recognized as one of the most successful and prestigious collegiate vocal jazz ensembles in the world, Gold Company has appeared throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Under the direction of WMU's Dr. Stephen L. Zegree, professor of music, the group combines several musical genres, including traditional chorus, jazz, improvisation and swing. Also contributing to "Gold Company: The Musical" will be Gold Company's sister group, GC II, directed by WMU and Gold Company alumnus Michael Wheaton.
