Deadline approaches for student employee awards

Jan. 26, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's more than 4,500 student employees will be honored Monday through Friday, Feb. 12-16, during the 21st annual Student Employee Appreciation Week.

The week recognizes members of WMU's single largest employee group for their accomplishments, hard work and contributions to the University. The theme for this year is "Students Make the Difference."

Student Employee Appreciation Week activities will include announcement of the University's 2007 Student Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year. WMU will pay tribute to both the award winners and nominees during a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Bernhard Center's West Ballroom.

Career and Student Employment Services, which hosts the week, is accepting nominations through Feb. 8 for Student Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year. Supervisors may nominate student employees and student employees can nominate their supervisors. Online nomination forms are available at www.broncojobs.wmich.edu.

CSES encourages all faculty and staff to submit nominations for this year's awards and to thank student workers in some way during Student Employee Appreciation Week. A list of thank-you suggestions, as well as pre-printed certificates of appreciation, may be requested from CSES. For more information about the certificates, including the Feb. 2 deadline to request them, visit www.broncojobs.wmich.edu.
