LeBlanc to edit child-development journal

Feb. 6, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Dr. Linda LeBlanc, associate professor of psychology at Western Michigan University, has been appointed associate editor of Education and Treatment of Children, a journal that disseminates information to educators and other child-care professionals, concerning the development of effective teaching and treatment services for children. Her appointment will become effective this spring.

LeBlanc also was recently appointed to the editorial board of the European Journal of Behavior Analysis, an international scientific journal published by the Norwegian Association for Behavior Analysis.

Last year, LeBlanc and her colleague Dr. James Carr, also an associate professor of psychology at WMU, were made associate editors of the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, the flagship applied journal in the behavior analysis discipline. The duo also was named to the editorial boards of Research and Developmental Disabilities and Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders, both published by Elsevier, the world's largest publisher of scientific journals.

Carr and LeBlanc joined WMU in 1999. They co-direct the WMU Center for Autism, an outpatient clinic for families of children with autism spectrum disorders. Both advise graduate students, Carr for the behavior analysis program and LeBlanc for the clinical and behavior analysis programs.
