The new graduate program is the result of a merger between the former Master of Science in Computational Mathematics and Master of Science in Applied Mathematics programs, which had grown to be very similar in their goals and requirements in the past several years. WMU's new undergraduate minor will consist of courses in Arabic language, linguistics and culture. The program, which responds to growing regional and national interests, will be managed by the Department of Foreign Languages and will become effective with the start of the fall semester 2008.
