Miller Auditorium goes "old school"

Aug. 7, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Four legendary R&B and soul groups from the 1960s and 1970s will battle it out on the campus of Western Michigan University to see who still has what it takes to get the crowd moving.

"Battle of the Old School," featuring the Dramatics; Enchantment; the Manhattans; and Ray, Goodman & Brown, formerly known as the Moments, begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, in Miller Auditorium.

The Dramatics released such great originals as "In the Rain" and "Get Up and Get Down." Just added to the lineup, Enchantment is best remembered for "Gloria" and "Sunshine." The Manhattans' list of hits includes "Shining Star" and "Kiss and Say Goodbye." Better known as the Moments, Ray, Goodman & Brown have a long list of chart toppers, including "Love On a Two Way Street," "If I Don't Care," "Gotta Find a Way," "Special Lady" and "After All."

"Battle of the Old School" at Miller Auditorium is presented by NVP Music Group. Tickets are on sale now and range from $37.50 to $42.50. They are available by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, online at millerauditorium.com, or by visiting the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office or the Epic Center Box Office in downtown Kalamazoo.
