Holiday parade volunteers, donations needed

Oct. 1, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students, alumni, employees and friends are invited to participate in WMU's entry in the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade Saturday, Nov. 3.

Volunteers are needed to help decorate the WMU float and to walk in the parade. Contributions are needed, especially WMU souvenirs and small, individually wrapped candy that can be handed out along the parade route.

Decorating the float will take place at 5:15 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 1-2, in the Campus Services Building. The theme for the float this year will be Winter Wonderland.

Those participating in the parade need to report to the staging area in downtown Kalamazoo by 10 a.m. Nov. 3. The parade begins at 11 a.m. Children of WMU families are welcome to participate, but younger children must be accompanied by a parent.
