Dean Shields to speak on international business

KALAMAZOO--Preparing students for the dynamics and challenges of the global marketplace is the topic of a seminar by Western Michigan University's Dr. David Shields Wednesday, Oct. 10, for the International Business Group of West Michigan.

The luncheon speech, "Preparing Today's WMU Business Students for Global Challenges and Markets," will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at BraVo Restaurant & Cafe, 5402 Portage Road in Kalamazoo. Networking will be before and after the luncheon.

Shields, WMU's dean of the Haworth College of Business, has been actively involved in international education in a variety of ways including having taught classes in Mexico and the Czech Republic and conducting programs in China, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Singapore.

The cost for the event is $12 for IBG members and $15 for non-members. Seating is limited. For reservations or more information, contact Sonja Dotson at dotson@bcunlimited.org.
