Smash the Chipmobile and support WMU bands

Nov. 5, 2007

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University students and other Bronco fans can take a personal whack at rival Central Michigan University prior to Tuesday night's nationally televised football contest at Waldo Stadium.

A classic 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne decked out in CMU colors, "The Chipmobile," will be available in the parking lot in front of Sangren Hall, Lot 49, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will feel the wrath of the Bronco faithful--or those with just a lot of pent up hostility.

Donations of as little as $1 per whack will benefit the University bands, which include the Bronco Marching Band, Basketball Pep Bands, University Concert Band and University Symphonic Band. A few lucky participants will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a swing at the Chipmobile with a tuba.

Tuesday's fundraiser is sponsored by Kappa Kappa Psi, the band service fraternity.
