KALAMAZOO--City and campus public safety departments and Western Michigan University officials will come together to provide safety information to students in a public forum Monday, Dec. 3, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom of the Bernhard Center.

The forum will provide students and others attending with:

  • A presentation on basic safety precautions for every living situation;
  • An update on the investigation of a Nov. 16 home invasion that occurred in Kalamazoo's Knollwood neighborhood; and
  • An opportunity to pose questions to city and campus public safety officials and campus leaders.

Following presentations by Kalamazoo public safety officers, the audience will have an opportunity to pose questions to a panel of campus and city leaders, including James Mallery, interim chief of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety; WMU President John M. Dunn; Dr. Diane Anderson, WMU vice president for student affairs; and a representative from WMU's Department of Public Safety.
