David Rozelle honored at Tuesday retirement reception

KALAMAZOO--David Rozelle, associate professor of accountancy, will be recognized for his more than 37 years of distinguished service to Western Michigan University at a retirement reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4. Students, alumni, colleagues and friends from the community are welcome to attend the reception in the Haworth College of Business Faculty Lounge in Schneider Hall.

Rozelle, whose retirement is effective Dec. 31, received the University's Distinguished Service Award in 2007 and what is now called the Distinguished Teaching Award in 1975. He was named the Michigan Association of CPAs 2004 Educator of the Year, and this past April, Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land visited WMU to present him with the state's Shining Star award for his selfless work in promoting registration for organ donations.

Rozelle earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo in 1967, a master's degree in history from Michigan State University in 1969 and a master's in accounting from WMU in 1974. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
