WMU Home > About WMU > WMU News Final details announced for inaugural celebrationMarch 21, 2008 KALAMAZOO--The inauguration of Western Michigan University's eighth president, Dr. John M. Dunn, is set for 4 p.m. in Miller Auditorium on the WMU campus. The event is open to the public free of charge. Final details have been announced for those planning to attend and for those who are unable to attend but want to listen or watch from afar. Ample seating in Miller Auditorium is expected and no tickets are needed to attend. A post-inaugural reception will follow the ceremony in Miller Auditorium's Grand Tier Lobby. Webcasts of the inauguration will be available live beginning at 4 p.m. EDT March 24. Shortly after the conclusion of the ceremony, a recorded version will be available for 90 days. The text of Dunn's remarks will be posted online March 25 at wmich.edu/president and wmuk.org, as well as in WMU News, where the text will be permanently archived. Related article Arrangements for WMU faculty and delegatesDelegates from around the country and WMU faculty who are taking part in the formal academic procession will have a chance to meet and talk prior to the ceremony at a pre-inaugural reception hosted for them by Dunn, beginning at 2 p.m. in the Gilmore Theatre Complex Atrium. Faculty members who need to pick up ordered regalia, may do so in the Shaw Theatre Green Room at 3 p.m. Monday. The procession will form there as well.
