WMU program best undergrad team at competitionApril 23, 2008 KALAMAZOO--Four students from Western Michigan University's Telecommunications and Information Management program were honored as the best undergraduate team at the International Telecommunications Education and Research Association 2008 National Case Study Competition. This year's case study involved designing the "campus of the future" at Cool University. The competition invited student project teams throughout the United States to develop solutions to applied problems involving communication and information technology. The final-round competition and public presentation was held during ITERA's national conference in Louisville, Ky., March 27-29. Members of the WMU team were Colin Cady of Rockford, Mich.; Justin Knapp, team captain of Royal Oak, Mich.; Ryan Lasure of Sterling Heights, Mich.; and Ben Krupp of Sparta, Mich. Dr. Mike Tarn, WMU associate professor of business information systems and TIM coordinator in the Haworth College of Business, was the team's advisor, while Dr. Richard Gershon, WMU professor of communication, is the TIM coordinator in the College of Arts and Sciences. The competition was open to both graduate and undergraduate information technology management programs throughout the United States.
