Winners announced in annual e-portfolio contestMay 2, 2008 KALAMAZOO-- Four Western Michigan University students have been honored in the University's fourth electronic portfolio contest. Three students were named winners in the contest. Those students are: Kristine Crummel of Battle Creek, Mich., a graduating senior majoring in elementary group minors; Matthew Feltner of Dexter, Mich., a graduating senior majoring in music education and Lisa Fisher of Muskegon, Mich., a graduating senior majoring in elementary education. One student also received an honorable mention, Chelsea Sharp of Brighton, Mich., a freshman double majoring in biomedical sciences and Spanish. The contest was sponsored by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. Examples of student-created portfolios were solicited during the spring semester, and a team of reviewers from WMU judged the entries. Portfolios were judged according to the students' use of iWebfolio to present personal, professional and academic accomplishments electronically. The four students will each receive a cash award.
