WMU consolidates courses at Southwest campus

July 18, 2008

BENTON HARBOR--Western Michigan University is shifting delivery of its courses in southwestern Michigan, and effective fall 2008, will no longer offer classes in South Haven.

To better serve current and prospective students and to continue the University's commitment to the community, courses are being consolidated to the WMU-Southwest campus, which is located on Napier Avenue in Benton Harbor. WMU's students in the South Haven area were notified of the change in recent months.

"We're committed to offering our students all the resources they need to earn their degrees," says Dr. Darrell Johnson, dean of WMU's Extended University Programs. "We believe for residents of this area, that is best done at our WMU-Southwest campus, where we can offer a full complement of courses, advising and other important student services."

Located on the campus of Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, WMU-Southwest offers undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as graduate certificates, in a variety of fields, including education, business and health.
