Fall flu, meningitis vaccination clinics underwayOct. 7, 2008 KALAMAZOO--The Western Michigan University community may be vaccinated against influenza and meningitis at five clinics this fall as well as at the Sindecuse Health Center during walk-in nursing hours. The meningitis and influenza vaccination clinics are open to WMU students; faculty and staff members and their eligible dependents; and retirees and emeriti. They are being sponsored by the Sindecuse Health Center, in partnership with the Bronson School of Nursing, Office of Residence Life, Student Recreation Center and Division of Student Affairs. Special arrangements have been made by the offices of the Vice Presidents for Business and Finance and for Student Affairs to fund the full cost of flu vaccinations administered by the Sindecuse Health Center for employees and their eligible dependents who are covered by WMU's Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan PPO insurance plan. Meningitis vaccinations administered by Sindecuse are a BCBSM-covered benefit for faculty and staff and their eligible dependents. For students, flu vaccinations cost $24 and meningitis vaccinations cost $108 and may be charged to the students' University accounts. Vaccinations also may be paid by personal check or cash.
