Two novelists next in Frostic Reading Series

KALAMAZOO--Novelists Sarah Shun-lien Bynum and Salvatore Scibona will read from their works at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University. The program is part of the Gwen Frostic Reading Series and is open to the public free of charge.

Bynum's first novel, Madeleine is Sleeping, was published by Harcourt in 2004, and was a finalist for the National Book Award. Her short stories have appeared in Triquarterly, The Georgia Review, Alaska Quarterly Review and in Best American Short Stories. She lives in Los Angeles and teaches at the University of California, San Diego.

Scibona's fiction has been published in The Threepenny Review, Best New American Voices 2004, and "The Pushcart Book of Short Stories: The Best Stories from a Quarter-Century of the Pushcart Prize." "The End" is his first book.

All readings are at 8 p.m. in the Little Theatre, which is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Street on Western Michigan University's East Campus. There is free off-street parking behind the theatre.
