W. Chester FitchNov. 19, 2008 Dr. W. Chester Fitch, former dean of Western Michigan University's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, died Oct. 3 at his home in Sun City, Ariz. He was 91. In addition to his position as dean, he was director of the Center for Depreciation Studies at WMU, which he organized. A former associate professor and assistant dean, Fitch spent 14 years as a WMU faculty member, retiring in 1982. He previously served as head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Technological University and assistant director of the Valuation Division of Gannett Fleming Corddry and Carpenter Inc., a business firm in Harrisburg, Pa.
