Board signs off on two lease agreementsNov. 21, 2008 DETROIT--The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees approved two lease agreements at its Nov. 7 meeting. The board approved leasing a 7-by-7-foot space at the southeast corner of West Hall to wireless Internet provider Clearwire, US LLC, which will install equipment there and also mount antennas on the hall's roof. The lease is for five years at $1,500 per month with 3 percent increases annually. A lease also was approved with the Office of Community Corrections of Kalamazoo County for 5,000 square feet of space in Spindler Hall. The agency has leased the space for the past nine years and will extend its lease for two years at a rate of $28,056 the first year and an increase of 5 percent the second year.
