John Treacy Egan stars alongside University TheatreNov. 26, 2008 KALAMAZOO--Closing out its fall season with a bang, University Theatre at Western Michigan University presents "Late Night Broadway," a cabaret concert featuring Broadway star John Treacy Egan performing alongside graduating seniors of the musical theatre performance program. Productions take place at 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 4-6, in Williams Theatre at WMU's Gilmore Theatre Complex. A cash bar is available for all performances. The student cast of "Late Night Broadway," which is directed and staged by WMU assistant professor of theatre Jay Berkow, includes Andrea Arvanigian, Heather Dolan, Patrick Keefe, Ryan Mayes, Michael Potsic, Liam Quealy, Cassandra Sandberg, Tony Serra, Hannah Sielatycki and Mikey Winslow. The creative team includes WMU student Rachel Gruetzner as stage manager. Egan recently originated the role of Chef Louis in "The Little Mermaid." He played Max Bialystock in the Broadway production of "The Producers," and was an original cast member in "Jekyll and Hyde." His off-Broadway credits include "When Pigs Fly" and "Batboy the Musical." Regionally, Egan has performed in "Master Class," "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Children of Eden." He also has appeared on television's "30 Rock" and "Law and Order," and on the big screen in "Last Night" and "The Producers." General admission seating for "Late Night Broadway" is $20, $15 for senior citizens and WMU employees, and $5 for students. Group discounts are available.
