Distinguished Scholar nominations due soonDec. 1, 2008 KALAMAZOO--Nominations are due Jan. 23 for the 2009 Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award.
Up to three of these awards may be made each year. Those selected during this award cycle will be honored at a ceremony yet to be scheduled. Each recipient will receive a $2,000 honorarium that becomes part of the faculty member's base salary, a plaque, and the opportunity to present a lecture, exhibition or performance to the University community. The Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award is based on outstanding professional achievements. The accomplishments may be artistic, historical, literary, philosophical, scientific or technical. Wide recognition beyond WMU is essential. All current, continuing board-appointed full- and part-time persons with faculty rank are eligible. However, they must have at least seven academic years of service to WMU and may not receive the award twice. For more information, contact Dr. Ernst A.
