Bronco fans gearing up for Texas Bowl

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University and Rice University will meet in the third annual Texas Bowl in Reliant Stadium, home of the NFL Houston Texans, Tuesday, Dec. 30, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, 7 p.m. Central. Both schools had 9-3 football records this season.

Game tickets may be purchased through wmubroncos.com/texasbowl or by calling toll-free (888) 4-WMU-TIX.

The official WMU Texas Bowl Tour Package is available through the WMU Alumni Association and includes accommodations, game-day transportation and more. Reservations were encouraged by Dec. 12. Visit the Alumni Association on the Web to check remaining availability of tour packages. Tickets for the official WMU pre-bowl party at Reliant Stadium are available separately through wmich.edu/alumni.

Bronco Watch Parties are scheduled in more than a dozen cities across the country. Up-to-date listings are available under events on the Alumni Association Web site.

The 2008 Texas Bowl will be televised nationally on the NFL Network and in West Michigan on WXMI FOX 17 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Time Tuesday, Dec. 30. The game will also be broadcast nationally by Westwood One radio and in Kalamazoo on WZUU 92.5 FM.

Texas Christian University defeated the University of Houston, 20-13, in the 2007 Texas Bowl before a crowd of 62,097. Reliant Stadium nominally seats 71,100.
