Region's largest gaming convention at BernhardJan. 23, 2009 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan Gamers Guild is holding its 14th annual gaming convention, Marmalade Dog 14, Friday through Sunday, Jan. 30-Feb. 1, in the Bernhard Center Ballroom on the main campus of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Headlining this year's convention are four Tesla II BattleTech: Firestorm cockpits--fully enclosed military style simulators that feature seven screens, 90 controls and a 12-speaker sound system. WMU is the first stop on a year-long national tour for the simulators to promote the 25th anniversary of the release of BattleTech. Marmalade Dog is the largest gaming convention in Southwest Michigan and features role-playing games, miniature war games, collectible card games, board games and other events. Hours for Marmalade Dog 14 are 2:30 to 11:30 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission fees are $7 on Friday and Sunday and $10 for Saturday. Three-day admission passes are $20 each; two-day passes, Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday, are $15.
