Parking lots closed to accommodate memorial service

Feb. 23, 2009

KALAMAZOO--Two parking areas adjacent to Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University will be closed Thursday, Feb. 26, until 1 p.m. to help assure adequate available parking for the memorial service for President Emeritus Diether H. Haenicke. The service, which is open to the public, begins at 2:30 p.m. in Miller Auditorium.

Closed Thursday until 1 p.m. are Lot 33, the large surface lot directly south of Miller Auditorium and Gilmore Theatre Complex, and the ground level of Lot 35, commonly known as the Miller Parking Ramp. To accommodate shifts in student and employee parking--Feb. 26 only--anyone with a valid "W" or "R" permit may park in any other Miller Auditorium or Lawson Ice Arena parking lot. Barricades and signs will be placed at entrances to the affected lots early Thursday morning.
