Graduate and faculty research is celebratedApril 2, 2009 KALAMAZOO--The scholarly work of 40 Western Michigan University graduate students and 12 faculty members will be showcased during the third annual Research and Creative Activities Poster Day Friday, April 10, at the Fetzer Center. The free public event includes poster presentations of research from 9 to 11 a.m. in Rooms 1035, 1045 and 1055 of the center. Keynote addresses by two faculty members designated WMU's 2008 Emerging Scholars follow, from 11 a.m. to noon in the Kirsch Auditorium. The speakers are Dr. Kuanchin Chen, associate professor of business information systems, and Dr. Jennifer Machiorlatti, associate professor of communication. Lunch begins at noon with an awards presentation from 12:45 to 1 p.m. Awards recognizing the outstanding graduate student poster presentations are sponsored by the Graduate Student Advisory Committee, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Health and Human Services and the Office of the Vice President for Research. The event is sponsored by the Research Policies Council of the Faculty Senate and the Graduate Student Advisory Committee, in collaboration with the Graduate Studies Council and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
